Job Description
Summary: Performs entry-level warehouse duties such as making boxes, replenishing supplies, and material handling. All associates earn base hourly rate plus a percentage of the hourly rate when certain production levels are reached.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of each functional area include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
Stocking – Scans cart/pallet to be stocked; determines location for item(s) on cart/pallet; places item(s) in appropriate bin; scans bin to complete transaction. Ensures that merchandise: is rotated by placing new item(s) in back of primary bin; fits properly with no overflowing out of primary bin. Ensures that no-break items remain within multiple as packed. Stock items that will not fit in primary pick-face to assigned overstock location. May assign overstock location if item(s) to be stocked do not have an overstock location in system. Researches missing items. Closes cart/pallet before end of shift each day. 
 
Replenishing – Uses Replenishment report and Bin Re-Stock report to determine which locations need replenishing. Locates merchandise and overstock using handheld scanner to fill as many primary pick-face locations as possible. Deletes overstocks from system when necessary. Uses tag system to identify primary locations where merchandise is missing. Researches missing items. Assists pickers if there are problems completing an order. Completes Replenishment Productivity worksheet and Replenishment Assistance Calls worksheet, and submits to management at end of each shift. 

Loop & Bulk Picking/Packing – Uses scanner to determine location(s) of merchandise to be picked for customer orders. Ensures that merchandise is clean, free of defect, and is saleable by customer. Stages merchandise in tubs or on carts in such a manner as to ensure efficiency when merchandise is packed. Packs merchandise in such a manner as to arrive to the customer intact. Physically must be able to continuously lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds; continuously push and pull at least 125 pounds.

Shipping – Compares identifying information and counts; weights or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Determines method of shipment. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. Assembles wooden containers or selects pre-assembled containers. Inserts items into containers. Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape. Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping platform to storage or work area. Physically must be able to continuously lift and/or move up to 70 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; continuously push and pull at least 125 pounds.
Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Big Rock Sports' safety guidelines, including but not limited to: safe operation of all machinery, tools, and equipment; proper use of safety devices; maintains housekeeping standards.

Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, reports, and procedure manuals.
Math Ability: Ability add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems using a variety of instructions and/or guides (ex: determining if a packaged product is defective and should be returned to vendor). Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of warehouse inventory software and order processing systems.
Certificates and Licenses: Powered industrial equipment certification(s), or the ability to obtain and maintain such certifications through a company-administered, OSHA-approved class.
